How does an infusion set work?
Under atmospheric pressure, the liquid in the infusion bottle flows from the infusion hose into the drip chamber. When the pressure of the water column in the drip chamber exceeds the body's venous pressure, the liquid in the infusion bottle flows from the hose into the vein.
What preparations are needed before using an infusion set?
Before use, inspect the packaging for damage and the sheath for any detachment. The injection device is used to add medication during operation and must be sterilized before use.
How to use an infusion set correctly?
Open the single package along the seal, remove the infusion set with needle, tighten the IV needle, close the flow regulator, remove the sheath, insert the introducer into the infusion bottle, squeeze the drip chamber to draw fluid to at least 1/3 of the drip chamber height, then open the flow regulator to expel any air from the hose. Insert the IV needle into the vein, adjust the flow rate to the desired level, and begin infusion.
