A dropper bottle with a ground-mouth dropper is called a dropper bottle. Reagents that deteriorate due to absorption of carbon dioxide or water vapor should be sealed and stored (such as NaOH, lime water, bleaching powder, water glass, Na2O2, etc.). Concentrated hydrochloric acid, ammonia, iodine, and low-boiling organic matter such as benzene, toluene, and ether are stored in bottles sealed with plastic caps and placed in a cool and dark place.
Among reagents that are easily oxidized and deteriorated, active potassium, sodium, calcium, etc. are stored in kerosene; potassium iodide, ferrous sulfide, sodium sulfate, etc. are usually stored as solids instead of solutions; when using ferrous sulfate or ferrous oxide solutions, Put a small amount of iron powder or iron nails.
Most laboratories in the world use reagent bottles produced by German companies. Because their lids are made of blue plastic, they are also called blue-capped reagent bottles.
