What is a funnel

A funnel is a cylindrical object used to pour liquids and powdery objects into a container with a smaller entrance. The smaller tubular part at the mouth of the funnel can be of different lengths. Funnels are usually made of stainless steel or plastic, but paper funnels are sometimes used for substances that are difficult to clean thoroughly, such as engine oil. Some funnels are equipped with a controllable valve at the mouth, allowing the user to control the speed of fluid inflow. Funnels are commonly found in kitchens; funnels can also be found in laboratories, where filter paper is sometimes used to filter out chemical substances such as crystals.
